COASTAL CANVAS

Immersed in the textured tapestry of coastal living, my photography portfolio delves into the interplay of negative space and the allure of the unnoticed. As an artist interested in textures, I embarked on a somewhat ‘voyeuristic’ journey, capturing the candid beauty that unfolds when people believe they are unobserved. This exploration extends beyond the subjects themselves, allowing the negative space to weave its own narrative and spotlight the intricate textures on the background.

Post-production editing is a fascinating learning curve, particularly with colour grading. Half the images were taken on cloudy days, prompting me to experiment to infuse them with the brightness and warmth associated with sun-soaked scenes. The hues of orange and pink became key for imparting the softness and tranquility that I feel from the ocean. Through trial and error, this portfolio emerged, a testament to the evolving artistry of capturing unnoticed moments, celebrating textures, and painting with the vibrant palette of coastal living.
